I can’t fly. I can’t fly
I can’t fly because of one or two
Not because I don’t have wings
Not because I can’t sleep on winds
Not because I can’t lift myself up
Altogether with my talons
But because they plucked it all out
One by one with so much pain
Until they turned it, all to quills
And made me feel
unlike a bird.

Wait awhile I will fly
I will touch the orange rays
That the yellow sun births
Stretch my wings
Like butterfly
And see the world
atop the sea.
